Northeast Trip {Cape Cod, Nantucket + Martha's Vineyard} Part 2

Part 2 of our Northeast trip is Nantucket & Martha's Vineyard.

We woke up early, boarded the ferry and an quick hour later hopped off at the beautiful island of Nantucket. I've read SO many books that take place in Nantucket (hello Elin Hildebrand!) and heard so many incredible things that I was excited to see! We planned for one day in Nantucket and we packed it FULL, but I would love to go back again!

A cute little bookstore that we spent some time in while walking around town.

I wanted to go out to Sconset on the other side of the island and so we decided to ride bikes out there. It was a much longer bike ride than we expected...we were so sweaty & HOT...but it was a good way to see the island! We went on the Sconset Bluff Walk while out there and it was gorgeous. It's a unique little place where you just walk a little path that is basically in the backyard of these insanely beautiful houses. We got lost trying to find the walk and ran into a homeowner who was super welcoming, told us stories, and told us the house across the street from his was Bill Belichick's.

This was on the walk...
"If you're lucky enough to be on Nantucket, you're lucky enough"

See what I mean by breathtaking views??

The most charming!!

We rode our bikes back to town, got some drinks, and did more shopping and exploring before dinner.

We had dinner reservations at Brant Point Grille at the White Elephant. Not a bad view!
I ordered lobster mac and cheese (and I don't like seafood at ALL). It was actually really good as long as I didn't eat any big pieces of lobster 😜

We walked out to this beautiful lighthouse before getting back on the ferry late at night to head back to the Cape!

The next morning we hit up the ferry over to Martha's Vineyard!!

Our AirBnb was a couple minute walk to these gingerbread houses. It's a whole community and all the houses look like real life gingerbread houses. They're cute & all super unique!

More beaches to visit!

We walked all over the first day. We visited the gingerbread houses, beaches, and ate lots of good food.

Then next day, we rented a Jeep and drove up to the Aquinnah Cliffs.

The pictures don't do it justice! It was beautiful. If you ever get the chance to go, you won't be disappointed!!!

Also, they have weddings up there! Can you imagine?! Stunning.

After Aquinnah Cliffs, we went over to the town of Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard. We stopped at what is now one of my favorite bookstores. This is the entrance...I LOVE it. We bought the boys a really cute book here too :)

Lunch views in Oak Bluffs! I love that we got to eat just about every meal near the water. Can you tell from the pictures that we had the most perfect weather? Blue skies & 70s!

After spending the day in town, we had a little time to kill before dinner so we made a quick trip out to Jaws Bridge (where the movie Jaws was filmed). There's beaches on both sides up & down, so we hung out there for awhile...and found MORE shells for the boys.

It's a common thing for people to jump off the bridge into the water. You can see the people in the photo above getting ready to jump in. We didn't jump because we were not prepared and didn't have any towels (and it was COLD).

After our time in Martha's Vineyard, we took a ferry back to Cape Cod and then a train to Boston. We had a day in Boston before we flew out the next morning.

Nate hadn't ever been to Boston so we walked all of The Freedom Trail and spent lots of time just soaking in the city- from Boston Common, to seeing the Celtics stadium, and hitting up...

the oldest bar in Boston...I think? It's a really cool vibe so we stopped for a drink during our walk.
We finished up our last night with sitting on the patio at a delicious Italian restaurant and talking for hours. We boarded our flight the next morning, landed in Chicago, and came home to our babies. I love traveling and getting to do it with my person is really just my FAVORITE! Where should we go next babe?!

xox,
Naomi
