My biggest boy is 7!!! I can hardly believe it :)
It's wild to think how quickly we've gotten here. It seems like big kid is the name of the game for Jacoby. I can see it in how he handles himself, in the ways he has his own interests, in the way he plays less with "toys".
Jacoby is our sports lover. He is as competitive as they come and sports are his very favorite. He wakes up in the morning and watches football or basketball games from the night before while eating his breakfast. He plays football, soccer, or basketball at recess. He comes home, hops out of the car, and grabs a football or basketball ball and goes outside. I LOVE his competitive spirit and I love that he enjoys being active! One of my favorite things to do is to be outside shooting hoops with him while we chat about our day.
Jacoby also is a book lover, and as someone who in the past few years has become a reader, I love that this is something we can do together. He naturally loves all of the silly, potty humor books that are meant for 7 year old boys haha! He also loves to read non-fiction and soaks up the information from books about sharks, dinosaurs, the game of basketball, Michael Jordan.
He wanted a fish for his bday and was so excited to get one
(it died...long story...we are getting a new one. RIP Jake!)
He had a friend birthday party at Skyzone and it was so sweet to see him and his friends play together. I love seeing the friendships he makes! He had so much fun.
Jacoby,
You are smart, funny, competitive, tenacious, energetic, and FUN. This age with you has brought on so many fun times with conversations that are deeper! We have worked so hard on our relationship so that we can talk through everything, from disappointments, fears, frustrations, to joys and the best parts of our day. I'm so proud of who you are and the way you work to better yourself every day. Your determination to be the best is going to take you far. I pray you know just how deeply you are loved by us and by Jesus, and that YOU are one of my favorite people in the world!! I'm forever in your corner, Coby Drew.
xox,
Mama
