On Saturday we celebrated Nate's 30th with a "Backyard Movie Night"! Although Monday was technically his birthday, a Saturday evening worked much better :) Below is the invitation that was sent out.
Popcorn, candy bar, beer {lots!}, Root Beer floats, cornhole, soccer + "The Edge of Tomorrow" to end the night!
It was such a fun, relaxing night celebrating Nate.
To you, Nate, on your 30th birthday:
I know you feel old {You'll probably have to talk me out of a depression when I get there in 2 years...HA!}, but I want to encourage you today. Let me just tell you some of the reasons that I love you (...in no particular order)
1. I LOVE that you are so genuine. Every one that knows you, knows this is true. You don't change who you are for anyone, and that is something that is so refreshing in the world we live in today.
2. I LOVE that your family is your top priority. I've seen you truly become the definition of a great family man. There's no where you'd rather be than with your family, and I'm just that lucky to part of it!
3. I LOVE that you consistently work to make our marriage better. Whether it's doing something I really want to do & you sacrificing just because you know it'll make me happy, or whether you encourage us to pray together, or if it's just you making sure date nights and one-on-one time together is where it should be.
4. I LOVE how you lead our home. You are a leader, yet you are the most servant-minded husband & father. I see Jesus in you in this way. You have this gentle yet strong way about you, that makes it so easy to let you take the lead and trust in you wholeheartedly.
5. I mean...I know I tell you this often, but DANG babe, you're smokin, and I LOVE that ;)
6. I LOVE the way you respect people.
7. I LOVE the way you love Jacoby. I've never seen anything like it. Your eyes well up with tears of pride & joy as he changes and continually makes us the luckiest parents ever.
8. I LOVE the way your mind works and that you always want to learn more. You are beyond intelligent...I've watched you go from college, to a CPA, to the CFO of a company and you're only 30! I'll brag on you all day Nate, your mind is brilliant and I can't wait to see where it takes you.
9. I LOVE how you balance maturity with silliness. You can be such a professional businessman and with the way you love to learn, your maturity is off the charts for a 30 year old. However, dancing around the house, singing silly songs and playing with Jacoby is part of you too. You balance it all so well, and I admire you for that.
10. I LOVE just YOU. Everything I've learned about you over these past {almost} 9 years has just made me crazier for you. You are way more than I ever dreamed of.
Here's to 30 years old never looking hotter and never being better...
