10 Month Update

10 MONTHS

Not sure what happened to my little baby.

Let me just throw it back for you really quick...

Why do they grow so fast? While I'm basically in denial of how fast Jacoby is growing, the stage he is in right now can only be summed up in one word: awesome.

I see him learn new things on the daily and his personality continues to come alive.

10 months-- whats. up. I love you.

Your Favorites: Mommy & Daddy, all animals (but Benny, Ruby & Luna in particular), music, bath time, other babies/kids, giving kisses, being tickled, waving hi & bye, bananas, your bottle, and wheels of all shapes & sizes :)

Your Not-So Favorites: getting dressed, your car seat (unless you're sleeping), and being in the car for longer than you think is ok ;)

Eat:

You, sweet boy, LOVE to eat.  You have yet to refuse anything I've given you. You'll take all the food, all the time.  You eat more than your 19 month old cousin :) Not sure where you put it though, because you're still rather petite.  I had 2 different people ask me how old you were today and when I replied with "10 months", they both replied with "he's a little guy!".  

Although you're 'little', you've got a belly that even Santa is jealous of.  I refer to it often as your Buddha belly. It's a term of endearment, promise. 

We have slowly started to introduce you to more fruits again and you've done amazing! So far you've had mangoes, kiwi, and blueberries and you haven't had your weird red rash at all :) Mommy and daddy are sooo happy with your progress and hope we can continue to add more.  You love all fruit and I'm thrilled for the new tastes you've been able to enjoy :) 

Sleep:

You are a rockstar sleeper.  You take a 1 1/2-2 hr nap in the morning and a 1 1/2-2 hr nap in the afternoon! 

You have 3 places you'll sleep. 

1. Your pack n play: but you generally wake up after 2-3 hrs in the middle of the night completely spooked.

2. Your carseat: you love to nap in it, but other than that you hate it. 

3. Your crib:  Easily your favorite.  You are so easy to put to sleep both for naps & at night and you sleep so soundly in your crib.  I can tell it's a place of comfort for you and I love that. You always sleep the longest and wake up the happiest when you're in your crib. 

If you don't have 1 of these 3 places or very occasional nap in the stroller, you fight sleep hard.  Someone holding you to fall asleep? You'd rather not.  Not sure why, because when you were a newborn that's alllll you wanted.  You're just growing up on me already.

Wherever you must sleep to sleep like you do, I'll take it.  12 hours straight at night is a dream come true, so thank you :) 

Personality:

I am so thankful for technology.  I can't wait for you to watch some of the videos I have of you.  How fun will it be to watch yourself?? Also, lucky for you, I'll have over a million pictures I'm sure!

You are the most lovable boy ever.

As long as you're not super tired, you will go to anyone.  Stranger danger is not in your vocabulary, and I think most of our friends and family really appreciate that.  Your daddy & I walk in the door just about anywhere and someone scoops you out of our arms to love on you.  You'll gladly play peek-a-boo with whoever has you, and a little tickling always gets the best screeches out of you.

You're pretty confident that you're cute, because you flirt constantly.  You just give me {or anyone else} a look like this...

and our hearts are mush.  Whatever you want little one, you can have it.

You have the most beautiful eyes- something I actually believe is a combination of your daddy and I. Strangers constantly tell me that you have beautiful eyes.  They tell me "he has beautiful green eyes", and the next day it's "he has beautiful brown eyes".  That's your daddy in you.  His eyes change color too, and I LOVE it.  Thankful you got that, among many other things, from your daddy.

You know how to laugh at yourself like a champ, and it might be my favorite thing about you. You'll do something, laugh at yourself and do it again until someone notices what you're doing and then laughs with you. hahaha! You're basically a comedian-- so yea, you're funny like your momma (your daddy thinks he's funnier than me, I beg to differ ;))

You aren't walking (once you start talking you might have to apologize to Cici for making her wrong in her predictions, haha!), but you have taken 1 step by yourself.  You crawl crazy fast, pull yourself up, walk around the furniture, and stand up while playing with toys for a full minute or so.  I'm thinking in the next month update, I'll be writing that you're walking everywhere.  Then again, you like to prove us wrong :)

Whenever we are out and about running errands, grocery shopping, etc. you take it all in.  I love to watch your face as you take in new sights, sounds, and people.  I can see your wheels turning and can't wait till you can tell me just exactly what you are thinking.

You have a way about you sweet boy.  Your daddy & I pray every night that you will know Christ and  live your life for Him.  The more and more your personality shows, the more confident I become that you're gonna be a light for His Kingdom.
