No worries though...I'm back at this blogging thing, and can't wait to continue to document more "life lately". Starting off with a good weekend recap {on a Wednesday...don't judge}
This weekend was easily one of the best weekends I've ever had.
This weekend included Nate's brother getting married, their rehearsal dinner in our backyard, family in from all over {including Brasil, LA, Scotland, etc...}, hosting 8 of Nate's cousins...
You know. fun things.
It was TONS of fun and I have quite the collection of pictures!
Let's get started.
Friday
I was up early with Coby to continue preparing my yard for the rehearsal dinner. Nate's parents threw the party, but I wanted to make sure my yard, flowers, etc were looking good :)
We had lots of people over helping get things set up and Nate took a 1/2 day so he could help with last minute things and be ready for the rehearsal at 4. I also had him help get everything set up because we were having 8 of Nate's cousins stay with us from Friday-Sunday.
Everything got set up smoothly & after the rehearsal, we all headed to our place for the party. We had a tent set up, 4 sets of corn hole, beer, wine, & catered Chipotle {because Chipotle is always a win!}
Talk about a fun night celebrating the couple. I was so happy to be able to host the party and have it be more fun than a "formal" dinner at a restaurant. It was a lot of work (particularly for Nate's parents), but it ended up being such a fun, relaxing party where we could relax with family and friends.
After everyone left, we stayed up talking with the cousins that were staying at our place until about 2am.
Saturday
Saturday I spent with the cousins while Nate was busy with best man duties!
Saturday evening was the wedding. At the beginning of the week, there was an 80% chance of thunderstorms (the wedding & reception were both outside)...but on the day of, there was only like a 10% chance, and it wasn't until later at night! :)
The wedding was beautiful and lots of fun.
The reception was nothing short of fun as well. Nate gave the best "best man speech" I've ever heard. He had tears in his eyes, which was just the sweetest sight. Nate's the oldest of all his brothers and he was so proud and happy for Eric. It made me tear up just watching him give his speech. Those 2 have such a special bond...one I know they'll always have.
Soaking wet hair...but I'm convinced the rain made it even better!
Boys will be boys
After Nate's speech, I took Coby to my sister's house (only 10 min away), so that we could enjoy the rest of the night without him being too tired/fussy & so he could get a good night's rest as well.
The rest of the night was filled with dancing in the rain, and some amazing memories made.
Eric---> Love you bro! Can't believe I've known you for 10 years now! I'm proud of you for following your heart & growing to be the guy you are today :)
Amanda--->Welcome to the family. #teamcarpenter fo' life! #teamdonuts fo' life too! haha ;)
Sunday morning I picked up Coby and then we went out to brunch with Nate's whole family (minus the bride & groom) before some left to go back home.
Sunday afternoon was filled with a long nap for Nate, Coby & I. Then we packed up and went to a big lodge that was about 30 minutes away, for a little family get together with his mom's side of the family.
My big stair climber :)
Sunday was also Father's Day, but since we were surrounded by family we didn't really get to celebrate much. I gave Nate a card, but we plan on celebrating this weekend. Blog post to come for my baby daddy ;)
Monday
Monday morning we woke up and just relaxed most of the day...played with family, Coby took 2 naps in between being loved on by the entire family.
Seriously--this kid is NOT starving for attention. He is the only grandchild on Nate's mom's side...so let's just say he gets just a little bit of love :) He deserves it though, right? I mean, he's so cute!
haha.
Monday evening we came home, put Coby to bed, and watched an episode of Parenthood before bed.
Nate & I were talking on Monday night and realized that even with all the craziness this weekend entailed, we were in a bit of a "down mood" on Monday evening, after realizing it was back to the day-to-day and we wouldn't be able to see family like that in awhile.
Thankful for a long weekend with family and friends. Weekends like this are the best. Now...I just gotta figure out where the rewind button is :)
xox,
Naomi
