Last weekend we were with lots of family on actual Father's Day. It was really nice to be with family and even though I gave you a card, we didn't really get a chance to "celebrate" just us 3 together.
So this Saturday (tomorrow) we have decided to celebrate Father's Day.
We have plans of homemade breakfast from me (this never happens...but what my baby daddy wants, my baby daddy gets), zoo, park, & then watching the Brazil soccer game.
When I asked you if you wanted to do anything in particular for Father's Day, you said "I just want to spend it with the little boy I'm a daddy to". Best daddy award, obviously.
No surprise there though. That's the kind of daddy you are. Doesn't matter what we are doing, as long as we are together--it's perfect.
Ever since I met you, I have thought the world of you. You are kind, sweet, trustworthy, laid back, funny and the leader of our home. You have a quiet strength that helps us battle the storms of life. I've watched your softer side come out more since Jacoby has been born, and it has made me fall in love deeper than I've ever known.
The way you walk in the door after work & immediately grab Coby to give him a kiss.
The way you proudly tear up when Coby passes a "milestone".
The way you can make Coby laugh.
The way you pray over Coby nightly.
The way you desire to raise Coby to love Christ.
The way you support our family financially.
The way you love me, so that we can love our sweet boy better.
...and when you tell me "going out is fun, but I'd rather be at home with our family"
Jacoby:
This part is for you. I hope you can always look back on these blogs that I write and see how much your mommy and daddy love each other, and love you.
I pray that you'll always love & respect your dad. I promise...even when you're mad at him for something {hard to imagine right now, but I know the day will come}...he means well. Not just well, but he means the BEST. He only wants the best for you. Yup, it sounds cliche. Yup, you're probably shaking your head. He's super trustworthy though, so just trust him. Come to me and I'll tell you exactly why your dad not only means the best, but is the best.
He's the most special thing.
xox,Naomi
