This was the perfect relaxing weekend.
Friday started off with us going to Salsa's for mexican food. Mexican food hits the spot almost every single time... Not only did the food hit the spot, but so did Coby's kiss.
Just as Nate snapped the pic Coby leaned in, grabbed my cheeks & gave me the best slobbery kiss. I melted. I still melt every time I look at this picture. I pray he always loves me like this.
After dinner we went to Redbox and rented "Let's Be Cops" {which is hilarious, by the way}. Coby went to sleep and Nate & I watched the movie and ate cookies. Technically, Nate ate 1 cookie & I ate 10. Whoops :) So much for looking good in that bikini in a month :) haha.
Saturday was filled with a whole lotta relaxing, naps, and snuggles. It feels so good to have a day every now and then to just enjoy family time and be lazy!
Saturday night we went to dinner with Steph and Jared...where they got my new favorite family photo:
I don't think any of us could be smiling bigger. My family brings me joy. Pure joy.
Sunday was pretty low-key as well.
Church has become quite the dilemma. We haven't put Coby in the nursery yet...I'm worried about all the germs he would be exposed to. #newmomworries.... right? I just hear of so many kids with the flu, coughs, RSV, etc. Coby has already had bronchiolitis without being subjected to a room full of babies...so what will he get when he IS exposed? I'm all for letting them be exposed to some germs (I'm not the crazy mom who makes sure she boils the paci every time it falls)...but RSV and the flu can be really dangerous, especially with how little he is. I take Coby out in public quite a bit and he is even in a swim class right now that we both love, so I'm not sure why the nursery makes me so nervous.
Anyways...all that to say, no nursery yet. However, he makes it hard for both Nate & I to enjoy the service. He is either needing to be entertained or is crying because he wants to be rocked (ie: standing-up, walking-around rocked). So one of us each Sunday has to go out to the main lobby and rock him to sleep. Thankfully there is a TV out there so we can still hear the message, but it's just not the same. More distractions, and a crying baby don't necessarily help you focus on the pastor's message.
I suppose it's just a phase. We plan on taking full advantage of the nursery once spring hits and the flu season is behind us. Just a few thoughts... Any advice for this mama? Sound off in the comments :)
Sunday evening Nate's brother, Louie, came over to hang out. Coby was in a really good mood and laughed and played most of the evening. It's so fun to watch all of Coby's aunts and uncles love on our boy...family is what it's all about.
Thankful for a relaxing and fun weekend with my family. I know it's only Tuesday, but I'm already looking forward to this coming weekend. Who doesn't live for the weekend anyway? :)
xox,
Naomi
