5 Month Update

5 MONTHS

How in the WORLD are you already 5 months old?!? You're wearing 3-6 month clothing... I officially decided that today--when I tried to squeeze your arms into your tight little 0-3 month onesie...You're moving up big boy!

Not sure how long you are since this month didn't warrant a doctor check-up, but you weigh 14.2 lbs!

Favorites: your momma & daddy, Benny, laying on your back with your pants off, your playmat,  swim class, chewing on your fingers, any kind of cup or bottle and giving kisses.

You watch me everywhere I go, and you give the BIGGEST smile when daddy comes home. You love Benny and his kisses. It's a full-time job keeping Benny away from licking inside your mouth ALL day :) The other day Benny was running around and you thought it was hilarious and just kept laughing at him. I can't wait to watch you two grow up together :)

You have a big interest in food and any kind of drink.  If anyone is holding you and trying to drink anything--you make it challenging! You watch us closely with every single bite of food we put into our mouths. Only one more month and you'll get to experience the world of food. I have a feeling you're going to love it.

Not-so-favorites: Being in your car seat for too long, getting dressed, being surrounded by a lot of people for a really long time, and naps.  

You love to stand up {with mommy or daddy close by to catch you when you fall}. You prefer to do this rather than sit--although you're getting close to sitting all by yourself.  You tend to sit for a few seconds and then slowly topple one way or the other.



One of my favorite things about you is how observant you are.  When you see a new face, you just stare & watch their every move.  You don't mind being passed to new people, but you make sure to give them a look-over.  It takes some work to get a smile out of you {unless it's your momma}, but when you do-- you win everyone's heart.  I see SO much of your daddy in you.  Trust me, that couldn't be more of a compliment :)  Your daddy & I are amazed every day at how much you change and grow.  Your personality has really blossomed this past month and fun is the word we use for you 1256836 times a day.

Also--this past week although naps aren't a favorite of yours, you've definitely turned a page and have been napping better. Perhaps because you're sleeping worse at night due to a growth spurt and teething? Either way, thanks for the great naps.
