Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend was so full of fun activities but with some rest time too--the perfect mix for a long weekend!

We kicked off Friday with the boys at a birthday party & Nate & I having date night at the beach! We love driving up to the beach to grab dinner & then watch the sunset. Dreaming about a house on Lake Michigan some day 😉

Saturday we laid low around the house for the morning and then we headed back to the beach with the kids for dinner & rock skipping. They could skip rocks for hours!!

Sunday we headed over to Nate's parents house for some boating & tubing. It was the most beautiful day for it and the kids had a blast. The tube we ride on is made so that you don't really fall off but Jacoby was begging to be knocked off. It didn't work but I'm thinking he might need the big kid tube some time soon. He loves a thrill!! The boys also got to fish but the water was too choppy so they didn't get any fish :( Maybe next time. I love that they got to sit out there with their great grandpa though--special times even if there's no fish caught 💓

Sunday we headed out to Pigeon River to do some canoeing. 

The boys had never been so we chose the shorter 1.5 hour route and they loved it! They all 3 agreed it was their favorite part of the weekend. Looks like we will have to do it more often. Nate & I decided we should also go with our friends, sans kids. It was peaceful + a great way to be outside but active! I love trying new things as a family. They're already asking when we can go again, and have plans on what friends to invite!! haha.

What a sweet weekend to officially wrap up the summer!
