Wisconsin Family Trip Recap

The week before school started, we went on a family vacation with Nate's family to celebrate her birthday!! It was a GREAT week filled with lots of fun family time. We stayed at a house at the Kalahari Resort that had all of us together--each "family" had their own bedroom and then we had a shared living room/kitchen/basement and it worked out great!

We drove the 4 1/2 (ish) hours to Wisconsin. This trip was easy considering last time we did a road trip it was like 14 hours hahaha!

Car naps. Also, sometimes it's still weird when I look back and see him with short hair! Then I see pictures of him with his curls & it feels so long ago! :)

games on the first night! Jacoby smoked everyone ๐Ÿ˜œ

hahaha. Why does this picture make me laugh so much?! He's like Bugs Bunny ๐Ÿ˜‚

They had a shuttle that went all around the resort. It was really nice to take to & from the water park so we didn't have to walk with all of our things!

It was different having the "big kids" since we've always been the ones with all the littles ones. However, the big boys got to go down many slides (Jacoby was tall enough for them all, Maddox could do most) and Kendry had a great time with his kids in the smaller kid pool and slide area.

Also, something to note. Technically if you're under 48" you're supposed to wear a life jacket no matter what (resort rules). Since Maddox is about 46", we had him wear it most of the time but they were pretty lenient so he had it off sometimes too. He's a great swimmer and obviously we weren't worried in the kiddie pool. It was more of a "we respect the rules" type of thing for me. He's only a couple inches away. Also, Jacoby is 48" exactly, but when he went on the biggest slide, I made him wear one too.

We rented these amazing cabanas for 2 of the days. It was really nice to have shade for the littles and then we were able to order food & drinks and have our cabana girl get us anything we needed. It was SUPER nice and I'd definitely do that again! Kendry was training to be a cabana boy ;)

I love these boys :)

allll the water slides....

Jacoby rode every single ride without hesitation! He was having the time of his life. Maddox rode all the ones he could and it was so fun to go with him too! It was so fun to do these types of "big kid" things with him. Sometimes it's bittersweet as the kids get bigger, but this was definitely a sweet part.

Kendry hung out in the kiddie area and had a blast. They had lots of slides, water sprayers, swings, etc. He loved playing with his cousins in there!!!

There's a huge arcade area too. They have laser tag, rides, games, putt putt, rocking climbing, etc. We didn't even do everything but we DID do laser tag, some rides, and lots of arcade games (my least favorite but Maddox's very favorite hahaha)

Hall of Mirrors. It says to walk slowly because the mirrors trick you on where you think you should go. One kid who shall not be named, at the very end ran to get to the last "clue" thing and smashed his head directly into the glass. It was a big ordeal and a bit chaotic, but ya know that's just how we roll! :)

where did my babies go?!??

My favorite people!!!

We celebrated A LOT that week- my mother-in-law's birthday & also my sister-in-law's book release (amazing!). We had cake, champagne, a nice dinner, encouraging talks, and a couple fun games of Code Names in the evenings. It was a really good week and the perfect way to wrap up summer!!

xox,
Naomi
