Jacoby {5 Years}

5 years old!!! Where does the time go?
Something about 5...it just seems so....BIG.  It's like they're no longer a toddler...more just like a "young kid".

Here's what 5 year old Jacoby is all about!

He LOVES school. He loves the friend aspect but also just loves to learn.

He loves trucks, dinos, and sharks. He tells me he wants to drive a big blue pick up truck when he's older, and that he will have lots of blow up decorations at his house because they're "fun" :) haha.

He loves soccer and baseball and will watch just about any sport on TV.

He has the best laugh!

He got a special treat and got to drink pop when he turned 5. He thinks it's the coolest thing and makes him feel so big.

I've seen so much growth in controlling his emotions.  He's my big helper and works so hard at every thing he does. He gives 100% but can be really hard on himself if he doesn't pick it up quickly.

He is sensitive.  A lot of people see his silliness and energy levels, but not everyone gets to see the super sweet heart he has.  One that aims to make everyone happy and one that feels deeply.

He thinks all gross things are awesome haha!

He is my big helper.  He'll help make Kendry laugh if he's crying in the car, or get him a snack if I'm in the middle of something.  When he's in the mood, he can be really helpful to Maddox too!

Legos. All day every day.  I think he works at legos for at least 3 hours a day. He does them almost all on his own, unless he gets stuck on a step.  It's so fun to watch him learn and do it all by himself.  He puts them all together, and then he'll change them as he plays with them.  About 95% of his "quiet time" is spent building with legos.  The other 5% is books.

He still loves books.  He loves stories but any book that he can learn about things (the solar system, animals, the ocean, how trash on a beach can hurt sea turtles, etc)...those are his FAVORITE.

He loves to active.  Riding scooters, driving his truck, and riding his bike...he loves being outside.

His 2 favorite "made up" games are:

Bad guy & police

and

Dinosaurs

He loves to wrestle Maddox & his daddy.

He chases Kendry around the house and is the best at getting giggles out of K.

Oh how loved and adored he is!

He loves bowling & chose the bowling alley (with mini golf & the arcade) for his birthday party...so here are some pics from the party!

Yes his shirt is too big, but he wanted all things Black Panther and I found it at Meijer the night before! He was thrilled. It'll probably fit him for the next 3 years haha

First taste of pop...his verdict was that it's good :)

Black Panther cake

His cousins always smash each other's faces in the cake, so he really wanted to do it but he wanted to do it himself.  So once I gave him his piece, he did it...! He had blue icing stuck up his nose the rest of the day hahaha

brothers for life.

my favorite 5 year old

Jacoby,

Always know just how special you are.  I told you the other day that God made you extra special because he gave you a sensitive heart.  One that feels deeply for injustice, one that wants everything fair and wants everyone to be kind.  That's such a beautiful part of you! It makes you have big emotions, and you've come so far in how you work through that.  You're always quick to give a hug- especially to me- which I love. Your love language is gifts and if I think of you and bring you something when I pick you up from preschool- it's like I win the best mom award every time :) When you really love something, you are FOCUSED...you try your hardest,  and you can be quick to beat yourself up for not getting right away. I've heard that's a first child trait 😉  You are wild and hilarious, walking around like a dinosaur about 50% of the time.  The other 50% of the time, you're generally laughing, wrestling with your brothers, or building LEGOS! Thanks for being the one who brings the best laugh, the toughest questions, and the sweetest hugs. I can't wait to see where life takes you...if I know one thing, it's that it's going to be a fun ride! I love you Coby Drew... forever in your corner.

xox,

Mama
