Easter Weekend {2015}

This weekend was full of family time, which is always a win in my book.

Friday started off with Nate only having to work a 1/2 day.  Unfortunately he didn't feel well and so the rest of his afternoon "off" was spent in bed, rather than us getting to do more fun things as a family.  Thankfully he was feeling better in time for the Good Friday service at church.

It had been a long time since I had been to a Good Friday service.  Not exactly sure why though.  I honestly don't remember other churches we have attended even doing it.  I'm so thankful River Valley does.  It was such a good service-- reminding us of our Savior's death and the waiting that was had until he arose.  I think I enjoyed it most because it helped get me in the spirit of Easter as a whole.  Sometimes we get caught up in only the resurrection, but it's so important to remember his time on the cross as well.  It also helped me think about it all weekend, rather than just Sunday morning.

After church, we had dinner with some of our bestests, which is always good for the soul.  We hadn't seen Jared & Steph in about 3 weeks!

Saturday was spent {randomly} deciding to get started on a few spring cleaning items --my list is long these days-- and then my family came over for the afternoon & evening. My brother, his fiancĂ©, my nephew and twin nieces all live in Indianapolis, so when they come up we try to get as much family time in as much as possible.  So thankful for a family who loves to be together.

Sunday morning service was so good! I am so thankful for a Savior who not only died for my sins, but also defeated the grave :) If you read this blog and have any questions regarding my faith or Christ in general-- please email me!
After church my family came over to our house for lunch.  I was in charge of making the ham {1st time everrr} and it actually turned out pretty good! It was a crockpot ham and super easy.  I'll share the recipe later this week, because it's so easy you could honestly have it any time, not just Easter!

 I'm obsessed with his squinty-nose smile :)

After lunch, an Easter egg hunt and multiple pictures taken, it was time for us to head to the Carpenter's side.  They do an "adult" egg hunt, because there is only one kid and then Coby on that side of the family.  Everyone else is basically teenagers to late twenty-ers :) Coby joined in on the fun and we got $3 and lots of candy!

He got lots of goodies in his Easter baskets too--thanks to Grandma, Cici & Papa. It's sweet of them to find things that he could actually use in his Easter basket! Lucky for Nate & I-- we get to eat all of Coby's candy from the Easter egg hunt this year.  Next year I'm sure it'll be a different story :)

A weekend spent celebrating our King and spending lots of time with family. Can we rewind and do it all over again?
