All over social media people have been listing out daily what they are thankful for. I love this idea to get in the mood for the season & for a great reminder of all I have to be thankful for. I decided that doing it here on my blog would be better than listing it daily. This way I can always look back & see what I was thankful for at this time in my life :)
FYI, these are not in any sort of order…(besides #1-5).
1. Thankful for my Lord and Savior. I can't imagine where my life would be without Jesus Christ.
2. Nate. Beyond thankful that he is my perfect match.
3. Family- I have the best & most encouraging family. I love our crazy, hectic & fun-filled family.
4. My other family- I'm so thankful for the family that I married into. I couldn't have asked for a better family to take me in as their own…People tell me all the time how blessed I am to get along with my mother-in-law, so I'm extremely thankful for that. Not only do I "get along" with the family, but they are my friends, including my brother-in-law's wife too :)
5. My best friend, Steph. The one girl who knows me better than anyone else. Thankful that no matter where I'm at, she continues to make our friendship a priority :)
6. Thankful for not just knowing Jesus now, but being raised in a Christian home and all the ways this has made me who I am today.
7. All my great girlfriends…I'm blessed to have the circle of friends that I do.
8. Actually, after realizing how thankful I am for my girlfriends, I'm also thankful for our "guy" friends. The circle of friends we have back home in Indiana is irreplaceable…& moving to Nashville helped me realize that. I'm SO thankful for that.
9. Thankful for getting the chance to move to Nashville for a year. It was something both Nate & I really wanted to do, so I'm thankful that everything worked out for us to do it.
10. I'm SO thankful for my mom. I know I already listed my family, but my mom gets her own number. She is someone who I can go to with anything and one of the strongest people I know.
11. My sweet dog, Wiley…because how could you not be thankful for him? :)
12. Thankful for my nieces & nephews. I realize they are part of my "family" as well, but they have been such an integral part of my life. They make me so happy & I am so thankful that God chose me to be an Aunt to them :)
13. Thankful for heat. As we come into the holiday season…I am SO thankful for heat. Whoever created it- THANK YOU :)
14. Thankful for a roof over my head. Don't take that for granted- EVER.
15. Thankful for food in my fridge. Ditto to number 14- Don't take it for granted.
16. Thankful that I live in the United States of America. I love this country and am so thankful to be an American. SO many people in this world hate us, but SO many people in this world want nothing more than to live in the freedoms that we do.
17. I'm extremely thankful for God's timing. Nate & I wanted to move to Nashville, and now we are moving back home- and God has worked out jobs and moving timelines perfectly. Thank.You.Lord.
18. Thankful for prayer. Knowing God has everything in control is such a stress reliever, no? :)
19. Thankful for my job down here in Nashville. Although I only have a few more days working there, I am so thankful to have been able to work at a job I truly love. Finding homes for puppies and kittens is such a blessing.
20. Thankful for the blog world. I have been inspired by so many bloggers…I always wanted a blog, but thought that I needed to have something specific to write about. While I do write about some specific things, I love that I write about what I want to write about…& I realized that from the blogging world.
21. My health! I feel as I get into my late twenties, being healthy has become an important part of my life. I'm thankful for a healthy body & the ability to work out and eat healthy.
22. Thankful for jobs…even though I'm moving home without a job, Nate has a great job that he will be starting, with great opportunities ahead for him. I'm thankful for this job and the financial security it brings with it.
23. Thankful for social media. This may sound lame, but it helps me stay connected with so many people- and I couldn't be more thankful for that. I thrive on being in a social environment, and being able to keep up with friends & family is crucial for me.
24. Our beautiful world. Fall always reminds me of the beauty of creation…how could I not thank God for that??
25. Thankful that God knows my future. Sometimes I question what the future will be like, but no matter how much I question or stress- God has it figured out- and it's even better than I could imagine.
26. A reliable car- If you've had an unreliable car before, you know how much of a blessing this is.
27. Thankful for being surrounded by love. I know some people who honestly don't feel loved at all or don't feel like they have someone who loves them…I have always had such a strong support system and the most loving people on my side. I am extremely thankful for that.
28. Thankful for the devotional Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. If you haven't checked it out, do it. You won't regret it.
29. Good food. I LOVE food. Thankful to God for creating all the wonderful food that I get to eat…that's the perfect thing to be thankful for right before Thanksgiving, yes??? :)
30. Thankful for life. It goes by too quick and it's a privilege to grow older. Thank you Lord for 26 wonderful years of life.
Tell me friends…What are you thankful for?

Love you sister! I am thankful for YOU!! <3
ReplyDeleteWhat a great blog, Naomi; you're so right that it's good for us to stop and take time to think about what we're thankful for - especially as we head into the Holiday season where it seems that we all-too-often lose sight of what we have and focus too much on what we want.
ReplyDeleteI know that I'm extremely thankful for you! You're an inspiration to me and a joy to have in my life! I can't wait to hopefully see you more often once you move back to Indiana.
God's blessings to you and Nate as you prepare to leave Nashville and travel back north! I've got a big hug waiting for you! :)
