Ashley's questions:
1. Are you the oldest, youngest, or middle child?
I'm the baby of 5 kids & yes, I'm your normal spoiled baby of the family, just don't judge me for that ;)
2. What is an embarrassing story about yourself?
Long story so here it goes:
When Nate & I first got married, I was still in the process of learning to cook. I received a recipe from a family friend for homemade Fettuccine Alfredo, and it called for Whipping Cream. So I went to the store & got all the ingredients including the aerosol Whipping Cream that you would put on top of dessert. I read the recipe & thought, oh that's an odd thing to put in there…but I guess it adds sweetness. This is the conversation we had when I got home:
Nate: (while holding the aerosol whipping cream…) Babe, what's this for?
Me: Oh, the fettuccine alfredo I'm making tonight.
Nate: This goes in it?
Me: Yea…the recipe calls for it, see? (I show him the recipe card)
Nate: Are you sure this is the kind of whipping cream that they mean?
Me: This is the only whipping cream I know of…It probably just adds sweetness or something.
Nate: I think there is a different kind of whipping cream that they mean…something about this doesn't seem right. I think there's like whipping cream that's like a heavy cream kind of what you would put in coffee or something…
Me: Oh.
So I googled it, came to find out that Nate was RIGHT! I went back to the store & had to ask someone {his aunt who I actually ran into in the store} where it was. At least Nate said something BEFORE I made it, I'm sure it would have been TERRIBLE. Poor Nate didn't know what he got himself into when he married me! Luckily I've gotten a lot better in the kitchen. I'm thankful he is smart enough to know there are 2 types of whipping cream!
3. How long have you and your husband been together? (dating and marriage)
Since October or November of 2006, so about 7 years! We dated for 2 years, were engaged for a year & have now been married for just over 4 years!
4. Are you a dog or cat person?
DOG!!! See some of my other posts!!! I'm {
5. If you could have a trip anywhere, where would you go?
Italy. It looks so beautiful & I love all Italian food…I would NEVER tell an Italian person my embarrassing fettuccine alfredo story though!
6. What actor do you have a crush on?
Tough one…Nate is still my biggest crush (HA!). Probably John Stamos…I know he's older but Uncle Jesse will always be hot, am i right? ;)
7. What is your dream job?
I have 2!
1. What I do now- adopting out puppies & kittens…duh.
2. Mommy some day :)
8. What's your favorite piece of jewelry to wear?
My engagement ring…4 years later & I'm still obsessed with it. He did so good!
9. Do you have a special querk about you? (touch your nose with your tongue, wiggle your ears, etc.)
Actually yes…I CAN touch my nose with my tongue!
10. What is your favorite feature about yourself?
Tough one. I used to love my hair, but now I chopped it so it's no longer my fav… I suppose now it's my smile, maybe.
Thank for linking me in Ashley! This was fun :)

HISTORY OF ALFREDO DI LELIO CREATOR IN 1908 OF “FETTUCCINE ALL’ALFREDO”, NOW SERVED BY HIS NEPHEW INES DI LELIO, AT THE RESTAURANT “IL VERO ALFREDO” – “ALFREDO DI ROMA” IN ROME, PIAZZA AUGUSTO IMPERATORE 30
ReplyDeleteWith reference of your article I have the pleasure to tell you the history of my grandfather Alfredo Di Lelio, who is the creator of “fettuccine all’Alfredo” in 1908 in restaurant run by his mother Angelina in Rome, Piazza Rosa (Piazza disappeared in 1910 following the construction of the Galleria Colonna / Sordi).
Alfredo di Lelio opened the restaurant “Alfredo” in 1914 in Rome, after leaving the restaurant of his mother Angelina.
In 1943, during the war, Di Lelio sold the restaurant to others outside his family.
In 1950 Alfredo Di Lelio decided to reopen with his son Armando his restaurant in Piazza Augusto Imperatore n.30 "Il Vero Alfredo" (“Alfredo di Roma”), whose fame in the world has been strengthened by his nephew Alfredo and that now managed by his nephew Ines, with the famous “gold cutlery” (fork and spoon gold) donated in 1927 by two well-known American actors Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks (in gratitude for the hospitality).
See also the site of “Il Vero Alfredo” http://www.ilveroalfredo.it, which also contains information on franchising.
I must clarify that other restaurants "Alfredo" in Rome do not belong to the family tradition of "Il Vero Alfredo" in Rome.
I inform you that the restaurant “Il Vero Alfredo” is in the registry of “Historic Shops of Excellence” of the City of Rome Capitale.
Best regards Ines Di Lelio
I can touch my tongue to my nose too!! Something else we have in common!
