Summer 2021 is HERE!

 My boys are officially out of school for SUMMER!!! We made it :) 

Maddox's school was done almost 2 weeks ago, but Jacoby just got done earlier this week. He had a great year and is both excited to have summer and also sad to not see his friends & teacher! 

I did a quick little interview of Jacoby after school. I LOVE this age and it's so fun to listen to him talk about all things school, friends, etc. Also, this sums him up perfectly because playing basketball is his very favorite thing right now. I snapped a picture before the interview and he's just looking so BIG!

The kick off summer, our first night we did a movie night with popcorn & candy...and the boys had a sleepover in the living room! They had so much fun and I think it's going to be a yearly tradition. Nate knows how much I love a tradition :) haha. 

We made a summer bucket list which is super simple but full of all things summer + sunshine...

pool days
boat rides
visit the beach
Ft. Wayne & Chicago Zoo
park picnics
cousin sleepover
visit the library
see fireworks
go putt putting
eat lots of ice cream
make smores
movie nights
catch lightning bugs
play in sprinklers 

 I also made a "summer learning list" which is basically my goal to help them learn some more life skills like... 

tying your shoes, getting even better at laundry, helping cook, etc... 

AND to keep up on the learning they did in school. We will see how it goes but I think it'll help to have a little structure thrown into our days. 

Here's to a summer full of sunshine, swimming, park days, picnics, late nights, slow mornings, and enjoying our extra time together!!
