I'm late to the ballgame when it comes to blogging recently. We are half way through January and I'm just now blogging about Christmas 😊
To be honest, it was a VERY different Christmas and while it was calm and cozy, we also REALLY missed being with family and it felt so very weird. We missed due to COVID and had to be quarantined away, so our family of 5 were able to be together but we missed out on Nate's family's get together. We facetimed while opening some presents but it just felt so ODD. I'm thankful for health, as I know it's not the case for some, but missing Christmas with family was really just a bummer.
and then watched the Christmas Eve service from our church (complete with candles that the church dropped off to anyone who needed it, which really meant a lot). Then we did a flashlight candycane hunt before getting the kids to bed so that Santa could do his work ;)
It was a beautiful white Christmas, as we woke up to snow all over...I LOVE snow on Christmas and so it made me happy to wake up to it!
We spent the whole day just hanging out as our little family of 5. The boys actually had a great day because we opened presents and then they had the whole day (and the next and the next...) to play with their new toys. They usually don't get as much time right away to play with toys as we are usually headed over to be with family, so I think they appreciated that time.
We were able to see my family over the New Year weekend since that was when we planned to do Christmas with them and we were safely out of quarantine then. It was so nice to see family & for my boys to be able to hang with their cousins!
Christmas 2020...thank you for giving me the appreciation of Christmas with family & praying we don't ever have to miss one again!
Forever thankful that Christ was born and that we can celebrate him- even if it means in a totally different way!
xox,
Naomi
