4 Years {Jacoby}

4 years old.

A few things about you:

You still love trucks. It's been an obsession your whole life and it's still going strong.  You talk about trucks all day long, your favorite thing to play with at school is trucks, and you asked us if we would get a truck instead of an SUV...

You've found a unique interest in all things ocean related.  Sharks + sting rays in particular fascinate you.  

Dinosaurs too.

The whole idea of the food chain is intriguing to you and you constantly ask me what animals eat what...there's a whole lot of googling on my end because I'm not always sure what the answer is 😉

You love Maddox + Kendry. You've learned to share a lot better this past year and it's made me so proud.  You love to make Kendry smile and when he does you tell me "Mommy, he's smiling at me...he loves me"

I tell you often to stop growing up and you tell me "Mommy, I'm gonna keep getting bigger because I always eat my dinner"...but we've made a pact that you'll always be my baby, no matter how big you get.

You have so much passion in you...and I pray that you can direct that passion in good ways!  You ride on your emotions, and while some days it makes me exhausted with your intense tantrums, other days I see the absolute beauty in the raw emotions.  The world may tell you to not be emotional, but I love that I can see a sensitive side along with your wild + crazy self!

You've come a long way in your tantrums and being able to express your emotions. I'm proud of the progress we have made, you have worked so hard!  We still have hard times, but who doesn't? Even adults sometime have a hard time expressing their frustrations in an appropriate manner.

The energy you pour out is mind blowing.  You've recently started playing soccer and you LOVE it.  You have so much bounce in your step while you run and play.  At preschool, one of the teachers tells me they love the enthusiasm you have because you always bounce into school with a huge smile on your face.  Your energy is going to take you places, that's for sure!

You love books.  LOVE them.  You will sit in the middle of a room with a bunch of kids running around and just read a book.  The stories fascinate you and you want an adult to sit with you and answer all of the questions you have about the book.

You are so proud that you're in preschool now.  I love watching you make friends on your own, and tackle new things with confidence.

You've been such a joy for the past 4 years. I often record you laughing because you have the best laugh ever!  You have challenged me to be patient, encouraged me to exercise kindness always, and you make sure I always mean what I say.  I love watching your brain soak up all the things and you are incredibly smart...making me google more than I ever knew I would with a toddler! HA. Watching you grow has been one of the greatest joys of my life.  Thanks for making me a mama first and for being one who makes my world more fun, more challenging, and more beautiful!  Your spunk, goofiness, grit and love...God surely made you special, Jacoby. You were meant for amazing things. I'm forever in your corner.
