2 Years {Maddox}

Where in the world does time go?!? I'm in a little bit of denial that you're 2 years old!!!  

I just want to make sure I remember who you were as a 2 year old.  So here's all things about Maddox...

You are the best hugger, kisser, + snuggler.  When I ask you for a kiss you'll always give me one and when I ask for a "really good kiss" you put your hands on my cheeks and pull me in for a smooch.  It's just my favorite.

You LOVE basketball.  If there's one thing that sums you up right now it's your obsession with basketball.  You ask to watch it on tv with daddy, it's basically all you want to play, and you flip out whenever you see one while we are out and about.

You are a great sharer and will pretty much give up any toy you're playing with if asked nicely.  Jacoby will say "give it back to me!" and you look at him like no way...but when he says "Maddox, can I have that please?" you'll give it back to him quickly.  Even someone at the church nursery said you were really good at sharing ;)

You are such an interesting mix of fearless + yet timid.  When you were little, you were so timid and you've definitely come out of your shell.  You aren't shy around most, you run around with so much energy, and once you watch Jacoby do something once, you are determined to do it too!  You have no problem running around, climbing on everything, jumping on all things and yet when we are in gymnastics you beg me to hold your hand through most of it :)

I've called you my bruiser for awhile now and gosh you've just re-iterated how true that is.  You hit your head multiple times in a week, you've had a black eye, you've had 2 huge goose eggs, and you split your head open and got 5 stitches.  All before 2.  I joke that you need a hockey helmet to protect your beautiful little face!

We almost forget that you have a heart murmur and all the things we did to keep an eye on you at the beginning.  It never stops you from anything and I couldn't be happier for that!

You don't like to be told what to do, so if we ask you to repeat a word, you won't.  You'll repeat it later when YOU want! You don't like being asked to put on a show or to repeat things that you don't think need repeating.  I LOVE this about you because it reminds me of your daddy.  Not as many words (like Jacoby/Mommy) but also very adamant about doing things on your terms ;)

You are the messiest eater alive.  I've never met a kid who can make a mess when eat like you do. However, you eat like a champ.  You often eat more than your older brother, and you eat quickly and efficiently.  Sometimes if you get frustrated because you can't get food on your fork, you just hand it to me and say "help".

You call Coby "Doh Doh" and we have no idea where you got it from or why!  Jacoby says "I'm not Doh Doh, I'm Jacoby" and you'll say "Doh Doh"... hahaha!

I always thought that you'd be the one that wants to hang with your older brother all the time, and while you love him...he's actually the one who wants to do all things Maddox.  He asks you to play bball with him often and he has to dress like you (matching shirts, shoes, + everything).  If I ask him to do something he'll ask me "is Bubba going to do it too?".  He just thinks you're the coolest!

You are a good sleeper and have adjusted well to sleeping on the bottom bunk in the room with Jacoby.  There are times where I have to take you into a different room to calm down, but for the most part you do well at staying in your bed and winding down.  You and Jacoby chit chat at night before falling asleep and it's the funniest + sweetest thing!

You love animals.  You talk about Benny when we leave the house and when we return.  You love Ruby but cats have your heart.  When daddy randomly asked you what you wanted for your birthday you said "kitty" and we said...kitty??? and you said "YEAHHH!!" It's your response to the question every time.  It kinda breaks my heart that we can't get one for you. Maybe we can get enough basketballs to smooth it over?!

You are a good tantrum thrower and give Jacoby a run for his money on that front.  Mommy is very used to being embarrassed in public :)

You are just such a joy.  You run around without a care in the world, you have the perfect amount of sweetness + sass, and you have the softest cheeks that I never want to stop kissing.  Oh, and lets just make mention of the fact that you look SO much like your daddy.  We looked at baby pics of him and you and goodness you're like TWINS.

I just want to bottle you up.  Your giggle, your enthusiasm, your love for basketball, the way you say "dada!" as you see his car pull in the driveway...it's all just the sweetest.  Your energy is almost unmatched and you love to play tackle with daddy! You love to snuggle me on the couch and have started to request "a hug" right before bed and nap.   You have brought so much sunshine, love, and laughter to this family.  Watching you and Jacoby really bond has been really cool and I'm confident that you're gonna rock being a big brother to Kendry!

Thank you for 2 years of kisses, snuggles, and the sweetest brown eyes.
