I haven't blogged in a couple weeks…sometimes life gets so busy, right? Bad excuse, I know. We are officially into our new house & somewhat settled. Being the OCD organizer that I am, it feels far from "done" to me…but most of the boxes are unpacked, which is a good feeling since we haven't even been here a week yet! :)
Last week I was reading an article in InStyle magazine and it highlighted an organization that Matt Damon works with called water.org. It's an incredible organization that works with getting people clean water for life. I was encouraged by this because there are so many ways to help out & it's so simple. Instyle gave 3 ways to get involved:
1. Donate $25 at water.org and supply one person with clean water for life.
2. Start your own fundraiser online. Give.water.org. walks you through the process and helps you promote events like fun runs and office pools.
3. Lend your voice to the cause at power.water.org. Sign up to have project updates posted on your social-media time lines twice a month.
I love that this is an organization that is truly making a CHANGE in people's lives, and yet it's not overly complicated or hard to get involved. It's amazing how much I take fresh water for granted & the thought that $25 (so simple in my life) can give one person fresh, clean water FOR LIFE…how can I not be motivated to give???
Anyways, I started my fundraiser called "Superbowl of Water" in which I hope to raise money for this organization by April 25 (water.org gives you 90 days), but I want the Superbowl to be the start of the fundraising. I'm having a Superbowl party & my hope is that I can raise $100 with just my first "fundraiser" & starting out trying to get people to give to this great organization. $100 would give 4 people safe water for life. The impact is huge.
If you are reading this and would like to give (any amount), please go to Superbowl of Water. I am so blessed to live here in the United States where clean water is never an issue and I believe God has called us to help those in need.
Let me know if you have any questions regarding water.org :)
xox,
naomi
