Monster Truck Show

I am so behind on this, but I have to make sure I get this little adventure on my blog!  To say Jacoby is obsessed with trucks would be an understatement.  Trucks are life, as far as he's concerned.  He has truck sheets, sleeps with trucks, takes trucks everywhere we go, and plays with them all.day.long.  His favorites are pick up trucks and MONSTER trucks (said with enthusiasm as he would...)

So when Nate + I found out about the monster truck show at the St. Joseph County fair, we decided it was a must do.  Even better- we just had to pay the fair price to get in.  

We ended up getting there, grabbed dinner (fair food for lifeeeee), and then filed in to watch the show.  I honestly wasn't sure how many people would be there but we severely miscalculated.  It was packed.  I figured we would have seats in the grandstands, so we didn't bring our stroller...and instead got to hold the boys the entire show :) #momlife #gainingmuscleallday

Although we didn't get seats, we could see pretty well where we were standing and were right behind the fence.  We thought about earplugs earlier in the week but then I forgot to order them (my brain...Lord!).  The trucks were loud but not too terrible.  Jacoby covered his ears the entire time and Maddox would jump when they revved their engines--then I'd plug his ears and he would just watch with amazement.  

I was pretty sure Jacoby would love it, but thought Maddox might be scared.  Both boys really enjoyed it, as long as their ears were plugged.

Jacoby still talks about it.  He was super unsure at first, and then realized the cool things they did.  At one point he said "I wanna go bye bye" and we said "are you sure?" to which he replied "I wanna watch 1 more truck"...and then after every truck, he'd want to watch "one more" :) 

You can see that he took his monster truck to the monster truck show ;)

After the show, we let the boys play on some tractors (mainly to rest our weary arms and backs...haha).  

Then we got some mini donuts (because you can't go to the fair and not get them!) and headed home.

A simple little show that brought so much joy to my boys. Pretty sure I never imagined myself at a monster truck show-- but life is funny like that :)
