Bulls Game 2018

Last year Nate and I took Jacoby to a Chicago Bulls game and it was so much fun!  This year we decided to do it again.  Nate's parents hung out with Maddox...because he's still just young enough that he would have been all over the place ;) Next year, he can join us!

After teaching the preschool class at church, we dropped Maddox off at our house with Andrew and Cindy, then grabbed lunch on the road so we could make it in time to the game.

We got there just in time...and our seats were SUPER close.  Nate said "I didn't realize they were this close." He's definitely the one that bought them! haha 😉 I can't believe how big the players are...seriously though.  Seeing them stand up during time outs was just like...HOW ARE YOU SO TALL?!?

We got a snack and then they had all the pre-game pump up stuff and Jacoby was terrified.  He kept his hands over his ears the whole time, told me he wanted to go back home (say what!!!) and kept checking on the huge blow up Benny the Bull that was tucked away in the rafters behind us.  No matter how many times I tried to convince him to take his hands off, he wouldn't.

After the first quarter he got much more relaxed and really enjoyed himself.  He ate skittles and watched the game.  We watch a lot of basketball in our house and so he knows pretty much exactly what to watch for once I tell him what color team we are!

At half time, we walked around to get the wiggles out and got dinner.

We watched the 2nd half (where the Bulls got dominated!).  It was Benny the Bull's (the mascot) birthday and all of his "friends" were there.  So there were a bunch of people dressed up like different Chicago team mascots and they ran around doing silly things like pouring popcorn on people.  Jacoby thought it was hilarious and every time Benny went away he begged for him to come back.  So a person in a Benny the Bull outfit is ok, but a huge blow up Benny was terrifying to him #3yearoldlogic.

Towards the end of the game, the little boy sitting behind us got a stuffed Benny the Bull...and Jacoby asked us so kindly if he could have one.

We went to the team store afterwards and they had a little one and the big one (that the little boy had).  I grabbed the little one and was like "how about this one?" Tried to save a couple bucks. haha.

Instead, Jacoby says... "No, I want the big one.  I want to get the little one for my bubba".

SOLD 💓💓💓

As much as it wasn't "needed", I loved the idea that he was thinking of someone else too.  So we got both, he held them both the whole way home and was thrilled to give Maddox the little one.

We had such a great day with our big boy.  It's rare that Nate & I together get time with just one of the boys, so this was special for all 3 of us.

xox,

Naomi
