As the boys get older, I look forward to doing some really fun things with them for each season. They're still too young to have much input, but the things we do-- they really enjoy! So I decided to make a fall bucket list...and I think it'll be something that they can help create as they get older. It's a good way to make sure we get in all the fun activities we want to during the season.
Here's our fall bucket list:
1. Hayride
2.Visit a pumpkin patch
3. Trick or treat
4. Make pumpkin snack mix...or really anything pumpkin ;)
5. Decorate Halloween cookies
6. Paint pumpkins
7. Visit A-Mazing Acres
8. Make smores
9. Make Fall/Halloween cards for hospitals (more on that to come!)
10. Make applesauce
Some of these are new things (like visiting Amazing Acres and making a pumpkin snack mix...) but a lot of them are things we have done every year that help me really enjoy the fall season. Making cards for hospitals is a good way to teach my boys empathy. Just because we have the beautiful life we do, doesn't mean everyone does. Reminding them of this as each season passes is a good thing. #raiseemright
I'm hoping my boys fall in love with the seasons and holidays like I have. It's helps take the beauty out of the every day. Finding new ways to make fun memories as a family. I have no doubt that in a few years...our list will read "play tackle at the pumpkin patch" or "have a family soccer game". I love that right now I can make it something fun for our family, but seeing how it will evolve and change in the years to come will be fun too :)
So tell me, what's something fun your family does to get in the fall spirit?
And now that I've done this post, I should probably make my pumpkin chai that I bought last week. The windows are open to the 60 degree air, dinner is in the crockpot and all the fall decorations are done. It just seems right :)
Tis the season...happy fall!!!
xox,
Naomi
