Swim lesson this year were...interesting. Jacoby likes the pool much more this year than last year, and has started jumping off the side of the pool. Last year he would only stand on the very first step...he even cried if I held him in the pool!
I wanted him to be comfortable in the water and really be able to enjoy it. I asked my friend, Heather, if she'd be willing to do a couple swim lessons to just help him be more comfortable with the water. So she came over Mon-Fri for 2 weeks to work with him. We did it at my in-laws pool (so thankful for them!) and the first 2 days he screamed the entire time. I was watching Maddox so I couldn't get in the pool and I honestly didn't think he'd care, but he did.
So the rest of the time I got in the pool with him (minus one day) and he did so much better! He has lots to learn yet, but he just got a good feel for the pool.
Hopefully we can swim a lot this year and he continues to get better and better! He loves water...but the pool has always been a little scary for him. I'm sure he'll come around and in a few years he won't even think twice. Until then, he LOVES to jump in the water to me, swim across, get out, and then do it again and again. I can't think of a better way to spend my summer :) If only I could get Maddox to not hate the pool. If it's a baby pool, water table or bath tub, he's golden. Stick just his toes in the pool and he screams ;) hahaha.
