The Big 3-0

I'm not sure how I got from a 22 year old college student to a 30 year old wife + mama to 2 boys, but here I am. The Lord has been SO good to me in my 30 years :)

Here's a little snapshot of how I celebrated turning 30!

My birthday was on a Saturday (who doesn't love that???), but we started celebrating on Friday with Nate + I going to dinner just the two of us.  How I covet long dinners with lots of conversation and my sweet man.

We came back home and Maddox was exhausted, so we put him to bed and then Jacoby snuggled up in our bed to watch part of a show before he went to bed too :)

We went up to Holland, MI on Saturday to just spend the day and night with my best friend, Steph, and her hubs, Jared.  Steph and I have been best friends since early on in college and her birthday is a week before mine (and Jared's is 4 days after mine...), so we all celebrated together.  I told Nate that to some, just walking around downtown Holland, shopping, leisurely strolling + eating may not sound like a lot.  But for a stay at home mom...it's a breath of fresh air.  I loved taking out time and not having much on the agenda.  I didn't have to push a stroller in and out of small stores, make sure both of my boys had snacks AT.ALL.TIMES. and didn't have to be back for nap time.  I love my life, but a break is so so good for my soul.

We went to lunch at a brewery, shopped, did some wine tasting, had cider donuts at a coffee shop, did more shopping...then checked into our Airbnb and then headed to a movie (La La Land...SO good!).  We went out for late night pizza afterwards and ended the night relaxing a bit before calling it a night.

While we were  partying it up relaxing like old folks, my sweet friend Ali was watching Maddox and Nate's parents had Jacoby. Both boys survived! haha :)

We got back Sunday late morning and then Sunday evening we spent celebrating my birthday with Nate's family. My family celebrates me in a couple weeks- this way it's like a whole birthday MONTH!

Oh and Nate is taking me to Greece this fall for my birthday! Santorini is on the very top of my bucket list + travel list.  I can't even contain my excitement. He's always making my dreams come true ;)

If you would have asked me where my life would be when I was 30...I would have told you "I'll be married, a few kids and probably done having kids, and much more mature" hahahhaha. It's not far off. I am married, we had a couple kids, but we're not done yet (right babe??) ;)...and the maturity thing? You'll have to ask those who have known me long enough!

Although entering a new decade is a weird feeling...I'm pretty sure people say your 30's are where you really thrive.  So here's to that and this amazing life I'm living right now.  I'm so humbled that this life has take me where it has.

Here's to a new decade!
xox,

Naomi
