These year in review posts are my some of FAVORITE!!! They're always late because they take foreverrrrr but they're so fun to look back on :)
2016...Let's talk about all the fun we had!
2016...Let's talk about all the fun we had!
January
Jacoby had his first big ouchie + trip to the ER.
We played in the snow as much as we could...
and Jacoby went bowling for the first time.
February
We spent most of our time preparing for Maddox
and we celebrated my last birthday in my 20's :)
March
We took maternity pictures and prepared for Maddox's arrival next month.
...and I made certain to soak in the moments with just Jacoby.
We celebrated Easter
and took Jacoby to Shedd aquarium in Chicago just for him before becoming a big brother!
April
On April 12th at 9:48 pm, we welcomed Maddox Eric into our family!
Jacoby greeted his brother with a kiss and a "hi bubba!" (a nickname he came up with and has stuck to this day!)
I didn't realize how pale and exhausted I looked! But I love this picture none the less.
We took the first of many brother pics!
We also welcomed my sister's little girl, Harper Rae, 12 days after Maddox
We adjusted to being a family of 4
We spent lots of time getting fresh air and playing bball ;)
...and we got beautiful pictures of our newest addition!
May
I celebrated Mother's Day as a momma of 2!
Soaked up lots of snuggles
Spent time outside and at the park
My 2 boys really started to bond
and I snuck a couple kisses in during the SB Cubs baseball game.
June
We went on A LOT of walks :)
met up with besties for lunch
Snuggled...
Went to the doctor
and rocked some sunnies :)
Ice cream became a favorite of Jacobys...
Maddox went to the cardiologist
we went to a couple weddings
and celebrated Father's Day for the best daddy!
July
We spent more time at baseball games
Nate and I went to a wedding sans kiddos...
and he worked on putting the playground up!
Then we spent lots of time playing in it!
We went to the beach for daddy's birthday
and this little nugget got decked out in red, white + blue for July 4th.
We threw a 1/2 birthday party (for me, Steph + Jared)- complete with a blow up water slide!
we also visited the fair (it was HOT!), rode the carousel, and ate too many goodies which resulted in Jacoby's first tummyache + throw up in his crib :(
August
We hung with our bestie again
We took advantage of eating outside while the weather was nice.
Took a trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo
and daddy came to swimming class with Maddox!
We visited some of our favorites in Lafayette
and I stopped to breathe in the reality that these 2 are mine.
We continued to soak in tiny baby snuggles
and the start of matching these 2 began!
September
We spent time at Papa and Cici's new pool
read lots of books in our new teepee
took another trip to the zoo
and we took a family trip to Dutch Creek Animal Farm.
We ended the month celebrating Jacoby turning 2!!!
October
We got family pictures taken :)
I stood next to one of my best friends on her wedding day.
We went downtown for Oktoberfest ;)
dedicated Maddox to the Lord
and soaked in some cousin time outside.
November
We continued fall fun with playing in leaves, picking out pumpkins...
and celebrating Thanksgiving (by eating + then snoozing)!
December
We spent lots of time admiring Christmas lights
visited Santa (and no one cried!!!)
went to Bethlehem Live
wore matching Christmas jammies
watched lots of Christmas movies
spent Christmas Eve at church
and started Christmas morning with the Christmas story to remind us of why we really celebrate.
We played in the snow and ate it too ;)
We wore all the cozy hats...
had extra snuggles in bed at night
and spent our last night of 2016 playing games with some of our best friends while our babies slept upstairs :)
Oh...and I might have gotten a smooch from my mister!
2016:
You've been so so good to me! Going from 1 to 2 babies has been the best and most exhausting blessing. My heart is more full than ever. The Lord has blessed this little family of mine and I can't wait to see what is in store for 2017.
Hoping your 2017 is off to a great start!!!
xox,
Naomi
