3 Years {Maddox}

Let's talk about who you are at 3 years old...

 You are funny without trying. It just comes naturally!

You used to be the quieter one who didn't talk very much, but this year your language has exploded and you talk all.the.time.  I love being able to have full conversations with you about all the things!

You run around wild + without a care. Life for you is fun and you're always up for an adventure.

You were about 90% potty trained and then decided you didn't want to do it anymore, so you don't. You're back in diapers and I can't convince you to get out of diapers for anything. So let's just call you stubborn ;)

You love to play with anything that Jacoby will play with you.  Your daddy and I often say "Jacoby plays with toys, Maddox plays with people". You don't care what you're playing as long as someone is playing it with you.

You are a daddy's boy.  This blows my mind because as a baby, you were 100% a mama's boy.  You would crawl away from daddy in your crib if he came to get you instead of me, you always wanted me to hold you, feed you, etc.  Now? Mama is fine but daddy is your FAVORITE.  When I took you to the doctor because you were sick you just kept saying "I want my daddy", so I called him and he came to the doctor's office and you fell asleep on his shoulder. You love your daddy more than anyone, and it's the sweetest thing. 

We work really hard on always talking things out when we are frustrated and I tell you and Jacoby every single day "Mommy will always talk things out with you, but you need to be calm and quiet so we can talk".  So now if you're crying and I ask you to calm down, you tell me "I talk mommy. I talk".  Or if I say "Can we talk it out?" You'll say "Yes mommy". You've got it down :) 

You still love all animals, doggies & kitties alike.  You'll walk up and hug/kiss/pet them and you wish Benny would play more fetch with you. HA.

Your favorite shows are Toy Story (all 3!), Super Wings, & PJ Masks.

You love any book that has to do with any show that you've seen.  We have rented the same Toy Story book from the library about 5 times. HA! 

You sing along in the car to songs and it's hilarious AND cute because you're always about 1/2 second behind on the lyrics.  I want so badly to record you but you'd catch me and stop...I just know it.

If I ask you to show me your grumpy face, you'll give me a grumpy face right away and then you start laughing hysterically at yourself....HAHA! It instantly puts you in a good mood.

You love "baby Kendry" big and always love to kiss him and you're sure to make sure he isn't getting into anything he shouldn't!

Sports are still your jam, with basketball, soccer, & baseball all being your favorites.

 

My Maddy,

You are the perfect blend of all things.  The one who doesn't like to be told what to do, but always wants your guidance, you're shy but outgoing, loud but quiet, silly but not on purpose, and strong yet gentle.   You make my days full of snuggles, hugs, kisses & funny quotes/sayings. When you are upset, hurt, or just frustrated...a hug can quickly make it all better, and I LOVE that about you. Thank you for being you so confidently.  I pray that never changes.  I pray you always know just how beautifully special God created you to be.  I pray your kind eyes will always see the good in others and I pray you'll always know that I am so so proud of you. I'm always rooting you on + always willing to talk it out.  I love you, Maddox Eric.
