8 MONTHS
Favorites: being held or talked to, rolling and scooting all over the place, eating, sleeping in your crib, mama, daddy, and your brothers, baths, your car seat in the car, your paci
Not-so-favorites: being alone, getting medicine on your cheeks
As you can see, you have a lot more favorites than not-so-favorites. You're just such a happy baby ... unless it's 6pm, then you're only happy if being held 😉
EAT
Your shrieking at the dinner table has decreased in the past month, which is nice! HA. You love to eat and will try just about anything...you've had lots of different mixed puree pouches, but you also love peanut butter toast, granola bars, puffs, bananas, and pasta. But you're very favorite?
Veggie straws. If you have those, you're the happiest.
You're still breastfed and I'm still loving that bond. There have been a few days where you seemed uninterested, but then at night you still love to nurse to fall asleep. Then the next day it's like you're back to nursing normally. I wonder if it's just you being moody or if your teeth are part of it.
Speaking of teeth... you have 1 tooth!!! Bottom left (when I'm looking at you). It popped through and you can't really see it unless you're smiling big or crying hard...but it's definitely there! Thankfully it didn't seem to bother you or effect your sleep!
SLEEP
You've been doing consistently well with this. You go down around 8 and sleep until around 5, wake up to eat and then go back down to sleep until 8:30/9. Last night you woke up at 5 but put yourself back to sleep after about 10 minutes...so you're SO close to sleeping 12 hours straight.
You also take a morning nap around 11 for about 45 min-1 hr. and then an afternoon nap around 2 for usually 2 hours.
If we are out a little later than 8, you will usually take a quick nap to get yourself through. You're a champ at taking quick power naps in the car when we are out running around... it's just the 3rd baby life, and you're so good at it!
PLAY
You LOVE to play! You sit up and play with all of your toys in your basket, then you'll get on your back or tummy and roll all over the place trying to get things. You're generally happy just doing this as long as you can see/hear people, but if you're left alone-- you just sit there and cry. It's the cutest thing.
We are still battling the acne on your face. We saw a dermatologist last week and have a new game plan that I'm hopeful will clear it up! Thankfully you aren't bothered by it at all.
You saw yourself in that mirror and were so happy about it :)
You aren't crawling yet but you know how to get to what you want, which is usually by rolling, scooting, and army crawling.
You think your brothers are SO funny and love to watch the chaos that they create. I think you're taking mental notes on how to beat them in a wrestling match ;)
When daddy comes home and gives you kisses, you instantly smile and laugh. You think it's hilarious when you pull on his beard, and he can tickle you better than anyone!
When I come in to your room in the morning (or after naps), the moment you see me or hear my voice, you pick your head up and flash me a smile between the slats of the crib. Then you bury your head because you think the light is too bright 😊
Baby K...
The world is sweeter with you in it. Your smile (to just about anyone), your giggles to your favorite people, and the way you handle the craziness of this family...they just make you the best. Everyone has said that you look the most like me, but in the past few weeks...people have mentioned how you look like your daddy. I pray you always know how deeply loved you are. With you, I'm reminded how quickly these precious days go by, so I soak them in. I soak in your littleness. Daddy tells me not to baby you... but I can't help myself. Treasuring every part of little you. I can't wait to see what this next month has in store!
