While we are totally in Christmas mode over here... I realized I forgot to post about our Thanksgiving weekend.
Jacoby celebrated Thanksgiving at preschool on Monday. How cute is he?!
Wednesday I took all 3 kids to the doctor for Kendry's 6 month check up and then flu shots for ALL.
I told myself, they'll all cry but at least then I only have to be there once when they're crying. I warned Jacoby and Maddox and after Jacoby cried about it and I talked to him about what exactly that meant he told me "Mommy, I'm not scared to get a shot anymore. I'm gonna show Maddox how a big boy does it." And it was the sweetest thing I've ever heard. I told him I'd be proud of him even if he did cry.
...and Jacoby didn't cry AT.ALL.
...then it was Maddox's turn and she poked him and he didn't cry but he shot her a LOOK. If you know Maddox, you know this look. hahahaha.
They both got suckers and were good to go.
Obviously Kendry cried and then took a long nap and was fine!
Wednesday night we went out for pasta per my request ;) We ate a yummy dinner and talked about the things we are thankful for. It's a good way for us to get in the "thankful" spirit and think about all the things we are really thankful for. My family and good health for all of us is what's at the top of my list this year.
On Thanksgiving morning we woke up, ate a monkey bread casserole (that I somehow messed up...this is why I don't make breakfast...) and watched the parade. Jacoby loved all the floats, but Maddox would have rather watched Blaze. 2 year olds ;)
Then we went to Nate's parents' house for the rest of the day to celebrate with his family...and I didn't get one single picture. The picture above is from Friendsgiving that we had at our house the Saturday before Thanksgiving. He's got 2 boy cousins that are 11 + 12 and Jacoby and Maddox LOVE them. They play so well and Nate and I felt like we were hardly parents that night! haha. Having older kids that can play with my kids is a game changer. They seriously had so much fun.
Friday we spent the day together as a family, we did some yardwork, put up Christmas lights + all got in a good 2 hour nap.
Saturday we had my family's get together at my sister's house. Sweet Olivia LOVED baby Kendry! There are so many kids and it's always a wild and fun time. Our boys get lots of fun play time together with cousins over the holidays...and they sleep so well too! HA. The kids are slowly getting to a point where most of them can play together without constant parental supervision, and so some of us adults got to play cards...we learned a new game and I already want to play it again 😊
Sunday I woke up feeling horrible...we stopped by my sister's for a little bit more family time but then headed home because I was felt worse...and sure enough I had the 24 hour stomach bug. Thankfully it was just 24 hours and I was feeling OK by Monday, but the boys and I stayed home and recouped!
I'm feeling 100% better and am SO in the Christmas spirit! I haven't done much shopping at all yet, but I'm working on getting our North Pole Breakfast ready for Saturday AM. It's our way of ushering in the month of December and all that it holds. I'm SO thankful for this past year and Kendry has been the best part of our year. We are ready for December and all the holiday fun...but mostly importantly celebrating the birth of Jesus!
xox,
Naomi
