A little late in recapping but I had a great Mother's Day!
We didn't have any plans for Saturday so I suggested we go to Chicago and walk along Lake Michigan and go to Lincoln Park Zoo. It was sunny, 75 degrees and PERFECT.
We woke up, ate donuts{duh}, and Jacoby brought me a little box and said "Mommy...I have somefing for you".
Heart melted for the most beautiful necklace from my sweetest boys!
Once we got to Chicago, we didn't have much on the to do list except just enjoy the day together and do whatever I wanted...because I'm the MOM ;) haha.
Throwing rocks...such a boy :)
The two that call me mama.
Sunday we went to church and lunch with Nate's mom and then in the evening we celebrated with some of Nate's extended family. My mom went down to see my niece, Olivia, get dedicated...so we didn't get to spend actual Mother's Day with her, but I swung by to say hi on Saturday before we left for Chicago! I'm blessed with the strongest mama I know and the sweetest mother-in-law.
There was a lot of time from high school through college where I felt like I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. I'm so thankful that God had THIS plan in mine. To be a mama. No greater honor than to raise these boys alongside their daddy. I don't take it for granted and I take it seriously. It's my job: it's a lot of work, it's chaos, it's wild, it's FUN and it's definitely what I was meant to do.
xox,
Naomi
