1 M O N T H
To be honest, it feels like you've been here forever. While in some ways it feels like we were just at the hospital, in other ways I feel like I don't remember days before you {although I think I was more rested} :)
A few things about you at 1 month old:
:: You LOVE to be snuggled. We have a little blanket that we take everywhere with us. If you're fussy, we just bundle you up, snuggle you, + you fall right to sleep.
:: Speaking of sleep-- you are very similar to your brother in that you always want to be held. I love holding you and try to soak in these sweet moments, but I also try to work on having you nap somewhere else besides my arms. My arms are always here if you need them though :)
:: Sleeping at night is about as "normal" as you get with a newbie like you. You generally wake every 3-4 to eat and then go right back to sleep. Every now and then (probably 1-2x a week), you have a bad night where you just wake more often. I'm exhausted, but nothing some caffeine can't fix. You can sleep through the night as soon as you want though :)
:: Let me just put this out there: you have gas issues. You get tummyaches from gas and it's the saddest thing to watch. Your face gets red, your scrunch your face, pull up your legs, and just all over look uncomfortable. It's not all the time or even predictable as far as how often/when you get it. We use gas drops when we realize you're uncomfortable from gas and they are little miracle drops. You LOVE the taste + calm down within about a minute or 2 of getting them. I think gas is the culprit for some of your worst nights of sleep.
:: You look like Jacoby in some ways, but definitely have your own "look". In fact, I think you look MORE like your daddy than Jacoby did. To be honest, I didn't know that was possible. You've proven me wrong :)
:: One of my favorite parts about you is your cheeks. I could kiss them all day long. They are so soft and squishy. Also, your eyes are so beautiful when they're open, They light up your face and are a beautiful almond shape. I think your eyes are like your daddy's, you lucky little boy.
:: You are a FANTASTIC eater. Thanks for that :) You eat every 3 hours and are done in about 15 minutes. I love how quickly you eat because I'm not tied down quite as long, which gives your brother less time to get into mischief! You've gained great weight and are 9 lbs. 5 1/2 oz as of today!
:: You don't like the swing we bought for you. We are working on getting you to like it, even though you fight it! You've taken a few short naps in it, but mostly wake up 5-10 minutes after you're put in it. Your daddy said the other night "I thought 2nd born babies were supposed to be more content with not being held"...and I laughed and said "yea...that's what they say. Not our babies though. They love to be held". There's good and bad that comes with this. I get lots of snuggles, but I get a lot less cleaning done ;)
:: You still wear newborn clothes, but wear mostly 0-3 month sleepers. Also, you wear size 1 diapers. We ran out of newborns and I thought the 1's looked a bit more comfy on you anyway :)

Maddox Eric -- You are such a joy! I am so in love with you. I'm amazed at how my heart has grown in order to love you the way you deserve. There are some days I just sit back and think, how is this sweet thing MINE? He's way too beautiful for that to be true. I love the way you snuggle, the way your eyes light up your face, and the way you have made my heart expand and love like never before. 1 month down my little love. We've got so much fun ahead of us :) I love you.
