2016: Goals...not Resolutions

Photo
2016...13 days in.

I realize that most people have already blogged about their 2016 Resolutions, but here I am fashionably late as always.

I like reading other's resolutions, seeing new ideas come to surface as the new year starts, and really just contemplating what I actually want/can feasibly do this year.

With preparing for Maddox to be here in April, I didn't want to give myself lofty goals that I knew I couldn't reach.  I have no idea what being a mom to 2 under 2 means.

I'm guessing it means survival mode ;)

So here are a few things that I've come up with.  I believe they will help me be a better me.  Better person, better wife, better mom.

1. I read on my friend Andrea's blog about her goal to be softer.  THIS.  This is the type of thing I want to make a goal for 2016.  Not "lose weight, or go on such-and-such a trip".  I want to be focused on being better--and I'm confident that making softer my word of the year can help me do it!  Softer... softer words spoken, softer heart towards all, softer mama {because let them be little!} + a softer wifey {what husband doesn't want his wife to be their soft, landing pad of positive words + encouragement?}

2. Prayer Warrior.  One of my favorite quotes is: "Prayerless Christians are Powerless Christians".  Prayer is powerful.  If you need me to pray for you, I'd love to...shoot me a text or an email :)

3. Read MORE.  This one is something Nate talked about and I agreed it was a great goal for me as well.  I've never been much of a reader, but I believe I can be if I find the right book(s).  Also, Jacoby LOVES books and I want to help his love of books to grow.  Best way is by example, yes?

Just a few little goals to help make my 2016 a year where I grow in all aspects.

Also-- I still can't believe this year we will be welcoming another sweet boy to our family! It's getting real, y'all :)

xox,

Naomi
