Is it just me or did Thanksgiving come and go SO fast this year? Whew!!
Here's a quick little recap of our Thanksgiving (and our annual Friendsgiving!)
Jacoby & Maddox both had their Thanksgiving parties at school. It's so fun to watch them in their element with their friends! Although Jacoby wouldn't take a picture with a nice smile so I tried again at home :)
The Friday before Thanksgiving we hosted our annual Friendsgiving. We host about 45-50 people, kids included. We've been doing it for years and I'm terrible about documenting it with pictures. I got one, right before all the chaos, one that my friends asked to take and that's about it. Some years we get a group photo and other years we don't. It's crazy, chaotic, and so much FUN. It's a huge group of our college friends, and some other friends mixed in...and includes all kids/babies. Everyone brings a side, our friend does the turkey, and Nate & I provide the house :) I've gotta be better at taking pictures. It's a really special time that all of our friends we've known for 15+ years can get together and talk, chase the kids, and appreciate the friendships we have!

Thanksgiving was full of family time, with us celebrating with both Nate's family and mine. Thanksgiving day was with Nate's extended family, Saturday was with my family, and then Sunday was a mix of both immediate families.
I'm so thankful for this beautiful life I live. I don't take for granted the family I have, the friendships I have, the health of my family & I, and all the ways we are so richly blessed.
The Monday after Thanksgiving, Kendry woke up really fussy and I noticed he was retracting while breathing and was just so sleepy & lethargic.
ugh. he was so cute in that gown...and I even got a smile :)
We went to the doctor and were admitted to the hospital. He was on oxygen, had IV for fluids (he wouldn't eat or drink), and hated every minute of the nurses & doctors messing with him. I stayed at the hospital with him from Monday afternoon until Tuesday evening when he was released. I'm so thankful for the community of friends & family that helped us-- from picking up Jacoby & Maddox from preschool, to watching the boys so Nate could be at the hospital with us, to texting me medical advice, to even bringing up lunch to Kendry & I in the middle of a work day...you know who you are and I can't thank you enough!
Get yourself a community who shows up when things go crazy. I'm extra grateful for all of children's health, and am thankful that this hospital visit was a first. It made me empathize for those who have children in the hospital often. Being separated from Nate and the big boys was HARD. Healthy babies are such a blessing.
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and can find ways to cherish those you love this holiday season. It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!
xox,
Naomi
