Whew...it's been awhile since I've posted. I just haven't had much to say and I honestly feel like the past month has been spent still catching up from moving. We are mostly settled with just a few things to order/hang up/etc but it's really feeling like home, I feel like I'm all caught up on cleaning + laundry...
you know, until Nate & I head out for a trip for a week. Then I'll play catch up again!
We had so much fun celebrating the 4th of July this year.
I love this holiday because it's always a fun reason to get outside, play, and celebrate our freedoms. This year I felt like I could actually have a conversation with Jacoby & Maddox about what "freedom" means, what a blessing this country is, and why we celebrate...not just because we want to swim, eat hot dogs, and hang with friends!
I love this picture ;)
He's getting so big and I just love him fiercely. Maddox kept saying "I scared. Fire is not safe".haha..so the sparklers were all for Jacoby.
We spent most of the 4th at the pool...
throwing rocks in the river because #boys
our attempt at a family selfie....haha. Maybe next year???
We ended our day going to the park and watching fireworks. The boys were all super thirsty and we didn't really have anywhere close to get water (we were all settled and ready to watch), so major parent fail. While we were waiting in traffic on the drive home, Nate hopped out and ran to a gas station and saved the day with water and skittles HAHA.
During the fireworks Jacoby looked at me and said "I love this. Thanks for bringing me here mommy"..... it was the sweetest thing. He said thanks again to both of us at the end of the night when we were getting in the car. We work really hard on making sure they understand that a lot of the things we get to do are privileges and not everyone leads that kind of life. The fact that he was thankful for us taking him to fireworks felt like a "light bulb" moment. Ya know?
Today Nate is at work but it's FRIDAY and we are pumped. The boys and I have made red, white & blue popsicles and blueberry banana bread and just hung around the house.
Happy weekend friends! I hope your 4th was special!!
xox,
Naomi
