6 Month Update {Kendry}

6 MONTHS OLD

Height: 25 3/4"
Weight: 13 lbs. 14 oz.
Head: 40 1/2" cm.

My last baby is 1/2 a year old.  Oh, how fun it is to see you grow...but there's something about you being the last that makes me savor these precious moments of your "littleness".

Your favorites: Mama, Daddy, Jacoby, Maddox + all other people!, the swing, your crib, your car seat, sitting in the high chair, being in the carrier, your paci, eating purees, watching people, kisses, being tickled, baths, the list goes on....

Not so favorites: getting boogies out of your nose, being alone,...that's about all I can think of! 

EAT

You're still all breastfed and you do so well.  You continue to take a bottle too, and just a few days ago we started you on a few purees.  You LOVE to eat the purees and while you're typically a really quiet baby, when I'm feeding you baby food...you make it KNOWN when you want more!  You've had pumpkin and bananas so far. 

I plan on doing baby led weaning with you like I did with Maddox, mainly because it worked really well and it was really simple.  I plan on getting you used to a few purees and then quickly moving to BLW.  We'll see how you do and roll with it from there!

SLEEP

You're a good sleeper.  Always have been.  You go to bed around 8:30, wake once/night (usually around 3am to eat) and then go right back down and sleep till around 8:30/9.  Sometimes I have to wake you up at 8:30 to get you in the car to take Jacoby to preschool.  

You are SO happy when you wake up and I LOVE it. You will quietly babble/fuss and then when I come in, you flash me the biggest smile! I

You nap like a champ, taking about an hour nap in the morning (usually in the car or on me in the carrier, but if we are home, you'll nap in your crib), and then a 2-2.5 hr nap in the afternoon, in your crib, and at the same time as your brothers!  

PLAY

You love to be put on the floor and just roll around playing with your toys.  You'll roll and twist all over the place.  

You don't like being alone, although it's rare that you are 😉

You fuss for only 2 reasons:

1. You're hungry

2. You are tired.  When you're tired, you want to either be held or to be put in a crib/swing.

You are the most tolerant child ever.  Jacoby + Maddox looooove you and show you that by being about 1 inch from your face and smothering you in kisses, giggles, and whatever wild antics they come up with.  You aren't phased in the slightest and think they're both hilarious. 

You have these beautiful big eyes and a smile that completely lights up your face.

You love your paci and it's often that your hands are in your mouth.

You've been drooling like crazy but still no teeth :) 

When people ask me what you're like as a baby I just say "he's a dream".  You are content, tolerant, sweet, cuddly + just the best reminder that there is such a beauty in the baby stage! 

My Kendry Boy,

Oh how I adore the little personality that is starting to show.  There's just not much that phases you, you flash a smile to just about anyone who will talk to you, and can nap in the carrier like no other.  You can be passed around at family gatherings and you think it's the best thing, because as long as you're not alone, you are HAPPY.  I think my favorite thing you do right now is when I come close to your face, you reach your hands out, put your hands on my cheek and pull me in for a kiss. It's the sweetest thing.   You're also the best cuddler around and when you get tired you snuggle up on my shoulder/neck, rub your eyes and then fall asleep! I'm doing my best to keep you little but also love watching you grow!  Thanks for just the sweetest 6 months and being the PERFECT littlest babe!
