Wonderfully Vanilla: 5 Month Update {Kendry}

5 MONTHS

What a month!

EAT

You're still all breastfed and you do great at it. You take 10 min TOPS to eat and do really with it. You still take a bottle really well, so thank youuuuuu.

It's weird to think we'll start you on solids next month. I thought you were just born...how are you ready for that???

SLEEP

I'm not gonna lie, this was your worst month of sleeping. You officially hit the 4 month sleep regression and it was hard.

You've been in your crib and you had been sleeping great (6-7 hours, up to eat + back down for another 6 hours)...but this month you were up every 2 hours for about a week and a half. I was SO tired.

Then you went back to sleeping for 6 hours. Then you'd change it up and sleep only 4 hours at a time for a few days, but now we are back at about 7 hours, pretty consistently. Let's hope we can keep that up, but I'm hoping to drop the one night feed you insist on 😉. You've slept 12 hrs. straight one time, so I know you can do it.

Naps have been a HUGE improvement though! You used to only want to nap in the swing, but this month you have mastered the 2-3 hr. afternoon nap in your crib. You nap while Jacoby + Maddox nap and mommy gets a much needed break.

You still nap about 3-4x a day. You always have a morning nap that runs about 1 hour and is usually on the go but when we're home it's in your crib. Then you have a long afternoon nap (2-3 hrs) and then you take like a quick 30 min. catnap in the evenings. I'm sure you'll be dropping the evening nap soon!

You're still by far the best sleeper we've had. I'm hopeful that we'll be sleeping all night long in the next month, but maybe you have different plans! HA.

PLAY

What a month for personality to shine. You were dealing with some teething pain (although you still have no teeth...) and that caused for a couple days of grumpiness. Once you were past that, you've been our easy going baby again.

You roll both tummy to back and back to tummy, but never in a consistent roll to get places. Most of the time you just roll from your back to your belly to play!

You still like the swing, the jumper for a limited amount of time 😛, and the car seat is fine if it's moving!

You LOVE to have people talk to you and play with you. It's your favorite when someone is on the floor talking, kissing, and singing to you.

Your nicknames around here are baby K, baby Kenj, and sweet pea.

You smile at Jacoby often...it's like you already sense his silliness!

Maddox loves to help give you your pacifier and is always ready to give you a kiss when you wake up!

You have these super bright eyes, a big smile and cheeks that I can't ever stop kissing.

There are days that I just can't stop squeezing + hugging you because I just want to soak in these beautiful days of you so little, so sweet + convinced I'm the best in the world! haha.

People say out of all the boys, you look the most like me!
