4 Month Update {Kendry}

4 MONTHS

I guess it's official that you're no longer a newborn! Even though I keep asking time to slow down, it just won't.  How is my littlest love 1/3 of a year??

Stats:
Height: 24" (8%)
Weight: 12 lbs. 8 oz. (4%)
Head: 40 1/4" (13%)

EAT

I could just about the exact same thing as last month.  You're a good + quick eater.  You eat in about 10 minutes and eat about every 3.5 hours.  You're still all breastfed and continue to take a bottle like a champ.  I had my first night away from you this past weekend and you took bottles so well for your daddy!

SLEEP

Oh my little sleepy boy!  We worked hard this past month on getting you to bed a little earlier.  For awhile, you were the most awake and happy at 10pm and wouldn't go to sleep before 11:30pm.  It was really nice because we got lots of Kendry alone time, but it also was cutting into mommy/daddy time.  So we slowly bumped it back, and got you into a bedtime routine of bath, jammies, eat and then to bed.  You've adjusted so well and you are usually asleep by 9:30.  You then wake up around 3:30/4 to eat and are back down in about 15 minutes, and then you sleep until about 9.  Some days you wake up at 7ish again to eat, which works out well because I can feed you and then you're good to go when we have to leave the house to take Coby to preschool or run errands.

I'm praying we don't hit a major 4 month sleep regression, but I'm mentally preparing myself for it.  You're still sleeping in the bassinet at night, but crib naps are hit or miss.  You'll sleep sometimes for 1.5 hours in it, and other times only 40 minutes before you wake up and want your swing! I tried to put you down for the night in your crib and you woke up at 2 am and I went to get you, brought you + your bassinet back into our room and put you to sleep 😉 Daddy woke up and said "I don't know what happened last night but he started in his crib and when I woke up at 7am, he was back in here". hahah. I tried another time to put you in your crib...so I fed you in the rocker in your room, and then as I went to lay you down, I just couldn't do it!  So I put you in the bassinet.

I have NO idea why I can't bring myself to put you in your own room.  I wasn't this way with Jacoby or Maddox.  I think it's just the idea of you being the last.  It's like my way of denying you getting bigger.  Maybe you'll be 10 years old still in the bassinet next to our bed?? HA! Also since you're such a good sleeper, it makes me dread the crib switch more.  I don't want to rock the boat on what we have going on!

I'll try again this month, I think?

PLAY

You still are just so easy going.  You let the big boys be wild + them being completely in your face doesn't bother you one bit.  You laugh and smile at Jacoby a lot and he just says "mommy, he loves me...he's smiling at me".  I still can't wait to watch your bond with your 2 older brothers.  They get SO happy when you wake up in the morning and Maddox usually says "baby UP?" and they proceed to smother you with good morning kisses and hugs.

You love your bassinet, your swing, your bouncer (just put you in it about 2 days ago), and the glo-worm is one of your favorite toys.

You rolled from back to belly a couple weeks ago and a couple days ago you rolled from belly to back.

You love to suck on anything, and enjoy your paci but your arm/fingers/fists are just as good to you! You have these big eyes that everyone says you get from me...and I just love seeing them light up.

Oh...and can we talk about how you wake up in the morning?  You wake up SO happy and just babble until I come and get you.  When I turn on the light and say "good morning", you have the biggest smile on your face and just continue to tell me all about your dreams!

The very few things you don't like are... a non-moving car seat, being on your tummy too long, and also being held while you're laying down (unless you're ready to sleep).

Oh baby Kendry...

You might forever be referred to as "baby".  The boys all call you that and so do mommy + daddy.  You've filled this month with lots of laughs and smiles and it's just reminding me how quickly you're growing.  If there's one word to sum you up right now...it's sweetheart.  I call you that often, because there's just not a fussy, unhappy, or un-sweet bone in your body.  Oh how thankful I am that you're forever our baby.

xox,

Naomi
